Ross Wagstaff, Ph.D. student, receives NCR-SARE grant to study urban food production!

Ross Wagstaff, a Ph.D. student and lab member since 2012, recently received a $9,994 grant through the North Central Region – Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education Graduate Student Grant Program! The proposal title was, “”Farming in the City: How Does The Altered Urban Environment Influence Cropping System Productivity, Ecology and Profitability?”¬†This grant funding will provide Ross the opportunity to expand his dissertation research to include data on plant, insect, and microbial ecology across an urban to rural gradient in the Chicago metro region.
